Followed with Sawan month is the celebration for Krishna Janmashtami today. Happy to wish all of you a bright and vibrant Janmashtami festival. Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapad. On the birth of Lord Krishna Ji, Janmashtami festival is celebrated with joy and purity.
On this occasion of Krishna birthday, we prepare panjiries from different ingredients. Panjiries are an all-time favourite sweet on Janmashtami of kids. The festival is celebrated by dressing our little ones as Krishna Ji and telling them the story related to the birth of Lord Krishna. Children like listening to bhajans, visiting temples to view different beautiful jhankis, and swinging Krishna Ji on palna made in the house. Even in many societies management of Dahi Handi is done. Children enjoy to the fullest watching the human pyramid breaking the Dahi Handi to the tune of Hare Krishna Hare Radhe.
Many devotees fast day long and celebrate the festival with chanting Radhe Radhe Krishna Krishna. On this auspicious day, our homes are smelling flavourful with many dishes made from kuttu atta.
Unfortunately, this year temples has not attempted to make jhankis and Dahi handi breaking by human pyramid due to Corona Pandemic situation. I believe it is hard for us to celebrate Krishna Ji birthday without these events. But keeping the health of our loved ones at the priority it is the need of the hour to stay at home.
Keeping the spirits high, let us all celebrate Lord Krishna Ji birthday with more enthusiasm and praying to get out of the current situation at the earliest.
