Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a pioneer of our Indian history. He was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbandar. Every year 2nd October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti. On this day we remember with wet eyes our beloved “Bapu”, Indian freedom movement leader. Gandhi Jayanti is an announced gazetted holiday in India. On that day all public services such as banks, government offices, schools, post office, etc are closed. This is our tribute to the “Father of our Nation”.
Mahatma Gandhi was a public figure. His several Indian Independence movements paved the way to free Bharat on 15th August 1947. He is a preacher of non – violence shown through the Satyagraha movement. He had boosted Indian to spin and weave hand made khadi clothes for themselves.
Chanting to the tune of the devotional song “Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram” makes me at peace and gives internal purity. The schools are the medium to not only impart education but also knowledge on important matters. Therefore, through this write-up, I would like to request schools and other educational institutions to come up with cultural programmes and devotional songs dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi Ji. This helps in imparting the students with the life and struggle of our national hero.
Lighting candles, showering flowers and singing patriotic songs over the statue of Gandhi Ji are gestures of we Indian to remember him. But this is not just enough. “ Lead by example” is a beautiful phrase to explain my coming words. Mahatma Gandhi had shown every Indian a path through his rigorous and dedicated efforts in freeing India from the rule of the British Empire. It is our moral duty to salute his efforts by adopting his messages in our lives.
- Non – violence
- Clean India
- Aatm Nirbhar Bharat

Encourage your children to learn about Gandhi Ji, his work, the freedom movements led by him and struggle. He is a perfect image of a Role Model of anyone’s life. Further, he is the person with a golden heart. He has grabbed the sorrows of all Indians. He had lived his entire life fighting to make our future better and peaceful. With joining hands I am proud to say that I am an Indian.
